No Costume For Halloween? - By: Jim Brown, Posted on: 2007-06-25

Halloween is the time of year when everyone is busy thinking of what character he or she wants to dress up as. But sometimes, you just don't have the time to hop from shop to shop for accessories and whatnot. So if you can't seem to decide what to wear to the party go as half beauty and half zombie or dress up as a spirit.

They are very easy to do and you needn't have to spend much for the costume. All you need is a Halloween make-up kit and some of your usual make-up articles as well as a couple of old stuff. Here are some easy steps to follow to get the right effect.

To be a half-beauty and half-zombie, first thing to do is to wash your face. Then, split your face into two and start working on one side as beauty. Put on makeup but you need to apply it in an excessive degree. In short, wear more makeup. And take note, you're only putting it on half of your face.

Next is to start on the other half for beast. On this side of the face, make sure that the foundation is near white in color. Then with the use of a cosmetic pencil, draw a long stitch on the cheek. Don't color the lips but color a tooth or two black to look like you missed some teeth. Apply glycerol to make it appear like you're actually perspiring.

Don't forget, the hair on your beast side must be limp and oily. Once you're done, wear a long dress with sleeves. Wear the sleeves on one arm and cut off the sleeves on the other. One side of the dress should look old. You can do this by applying some stain into it. As for the footwear, you can wear different ones for each foot as long as one foot will be wearing a decent one or one that's in style.

On the other hand, to be a spirit face, put the whitest foundation on your entire face and neck. Then apply a green cosmetic stick around your left eye. However, for your mouth and right eye, use a red cosmetic stick. Utilize it to get that look of an injured eye where blood is gushing down.

To get the injured eye effect, draw a scar on the eyebrow. Finally, for the overall spirit look, put some foundation on your arms and other areas that are visible.
