Sacramento's nightlife has a lot of variety; there is enough to keep the college students, the loving couples, the business travelers and those just looking for some food, drink and music going all night long. 815 L Street Club

This is a very popular club in downtown Sacramento, but one that is more popular among those above 30. This club is considered to be one of the hip, upscale clubs in the Sacramento area. Its ambience is romantic, with its huge mahogany bar which serves beer, liquors and wines, cozy little booths for you to share some private moments with that special someone and lots of stained glass adding color and life to the place. The music at this club ranges between big bands and celebrity DJs, to live bands that add extra zing to the ambience of the club.

Remember to dress stylish and the good news for all is that smoking is a strict 'NO NO' inside the club. This club is open from 9pm to 3am for those above 21. A unique thing about this club is that there are swing classes conducted here, so that you can showcase your swinging talents later as the night progresses.

Back door lounge

This lounge is an eclectic mix between being a lounge and a club. The theme of this lounge is retro and it reflects in the 50s Las Vegas style decor. Rich red velvet walls, cozy leather booths, gold bling accessories and dim lighting all adds to the trendy ambience of this place. The music is also retro with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Cliff Richards' songs. Martinis, scotch on the rocks and wine being the choice of beverage here, makes you feel like you have stepped back in time.

Initially known as The Rage, it is now called Barcode, the club is more popular among the college goers and for anybody between the 18 to 24 age group. This trendy club with its red and silver colors and DJs pumping out house, electronica and hip-hop music is more like one serving kegs of beer. This is a hot spot for bachelor and hen parties. The dress code is stylish, but no jeans and denims please.

Blue Cue

This is a place, which is an interesting mix between a billiards venue and a bar. The only difference between this and any other billiards joint or bar is that it combines the two. Valet parking, trendy interiors and classy clientele all add to the ambience of this place.

Monkey Bar

This maybe a small bar, but where the music and drinks are concerned, the staff do not 'monkey' around. This bar is one of the hippest and most popular places to enjoy drinks, some great music or to just show off your attire.
