Minneapolis is the largest city in the US state of Minnesota and is the county seat of Hennepin County. The city lies on both banks of the Mississippi River, just north of the rivers confluence with the Minnesota River and adjoins Saint Paul, the states capital.

Minneapolis was born when two mills were built to cut lumber and grind flour for the men of a nearby fort. Despite the fact that these were reservation lands and that cabins were torn down by army troops almost as soon as settlers built them, the community of St Anthony developed at St Anthony Falls around the twin mills

The beauty and sophistication of Minneapolis is augmented by its striking seasonal variety. From hot summer days to brisk winter evenings.

The Historic Orpheus theatre in downtown Minneapolis is a fine place to see a concert, play, or other type of show. This theatre was built in the early 1920s and its elegance and grandeur has been restored. Back in the early 1980s, previous owners had modernized, and slightly destroyed the place by draping or painting over grand, beautiful architecture. In the 1990s it was restored to its beautiful old glory. The place is huge. When you walk into the huge theatre and get a glimpse of its gilded ceiling and huge chandeliers, you will feel like you are taking a step back into the old vaudeville days of 1930.
