There are two prominent types of business models that online entrepreneurs are using to earn money blogging. The first and most common way to generate an income from your blog is to sell advertising to various companies and organizations. The second way to make money with your blog is by selling posts, or being paid to post for 3rd parties.

Making money by selling advertising on your blog can be done in several ways. Some are fairly simple and others will take a lot of time and effort on your part.

1. Use Pay Per Click Affiliate Programs - Sites such as http://www.google.com, http://www.adbrite.com, and http://elementads.com all offer pay per click affiliate programs. This means you earn money when visitors to your site click through on the ads placed there from the PPC Provider. Revenue from PPC programs can vary from one or two cents per click to well over two dollars per click.

2. Use CPM Affiliate Programs - Sites such as http://www.clicksor.com, http://www.cpxinteractive.com, and http://mamamediasolutions.com, all over affiliate schemes that will pay you for each unique view on your site. Visitors don't have to click through on your ads, they just have to show up ! This is a relatively simple way to earn some extra bucks from your blog, but unless you have extremely large amounts of unique visitors a CPM program will only make you a few dollars here and there.

3. Sell advertising direct to companies and organizations - This can really be the most lucrative way of making money with your blog, but it will take time and work. Companies will not want to pay for advertising on your blog if it doesn't get a lot of traffic, they're going to want some bang for their buck. Make your blog interesting, build up links to it, and in time you may be able to sell direct advertising.

Being paid to post on your own blog can also be done in a variety of ways, and they are fast and easy to get started with.

1. Sign up with a site like http://payperpost.com, http://www.blogitive.com, or http://payu2blog.com. Each one of these companies will pay you to post on your own blog. They have certain requirements that each post must meet, but if you can follow directions, you can certainly make a few bucks from this.

2. Sell posts on your blog to companies or individuals - Many times people are looking for a venue for an article they've written, a press release, a review. Take advantage of that need and offer space on your blog for a small fee. This too can be a great income generator.
