They feel that they will only need to wear larger clothes for nine months and feel that this is an expense that can be spent on something for the new baby that will arrive soon. When a woman reaches the fourth month of pregnancy though, she is very open to anyone that can recommend some low cost pregnancy clothes.

At the fourth month, a woman will become very aware of the baby that is growing inside her. The stomach will extend to a point where current clothes selections taken from the home wardrobe will do little to cover the girth of the waist any longer. A woman will often begin shopping for pregnancy clothes at a mass merchandizing retailer because they do not want to overspend the family budget on something that will only be used for a few more months.

To cut down on the number of maternity clothes that purchased, a woman might consider buying more maternity tops than pants. Some women will stick to basic colors in pans such as black and brown because these colors hide stains well and perspiration marks. With several styles of pregnancy clothing selected in the pant category, a woman can select several tops that will carry her throughout her pregnancy and keep clothing expenses to an absolute minimum.

Many retailers sell discount pregnancy clothing that is low in price and high in fashion choices. A pregnant woman can have a great time while shopping in these stores because there is little to feel guilty about as far as prices go. The sizes for pregnancy clothing in these stores might be classified as oversized, or plus sizes, and women find all sorts of pregnancy clothing to wear without feeling inferior one bit due to the recent weight gain in their midriff.

A mother-to-be that must buy pregnancy clothing for wear at work, might feel safe in buying longer skirts that camouflage the expanding girth of the tummy. There are many fashionable jackets in the home wardrobe that will carry a working person through the first four or five months of her pregnancy period. With one piece of pregnancy clothing in hand, a woman can build a new wardrobe from what is in the closet at home.

With a little bit of ingenuity, a woman can accessorize her present wardrobe around her pregnancy. Women have often left zippers unzipped to allow pants to fit more comfortably during their first months of pregnancy. Some women will alter some pants in their wardrobe with pregnancy panels that they sew in themselves just to save money for other things that they will need when the baby arrives.
