Do Diesel Byproducts Result In Brain Damage? - By: GARKO, Posted on: 2008-05-21

Oops! Another setback for biodiesel! The emissions appear to contribute to brain damage!
Microscopic particles of soot, or nanoparticles, can enter via the nose and lodge in the brain. This has about the same effect on your brain as gunk buildup does on your car engine and they could interfere with normal brain function and perception processing.
Ten male test subjects, between the ages of eighteen and thirty nine, were placed in a gas chamber(?) filled with tailpipe fumes from a diesel engine for a solid hour. After about half of that hour had passed, EEG brain wave patterns displayed a reaction, is suggesting to researches changes in information processing at the cortex of the brain.
As it turns out, inhaling contaminated air over the long term not only increases your risk of being afflicted with lung cancer or heart and lung disease, it may also increase your risk of nerve and brain diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, according to this new study.
What happens when you pollute your brain?
A recent bit of research made known that the poisoning by molecules of diesel emissions byproduct leads to oxidative stress-mediated inflammation in your brain cortex. (It has been considered true for a while now that inflammation is the essential causative element in both cardiac and systemic diseases from inhalation of diesel fumes.)
Your brain has a high level of sensitivity to harmful effects brought on by oxidative stress.
For example, oxidative stress seems to have some negative impact in the causation of conditions such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
This kind of stress in the brain cortex is also found in various other psycho-pathological ailments for instance:
headaches
post-traumatic stress disorder
"burnout"
concussions and such
Researchers are finding that the beta waves in the test subjects in this study were negatively impacted, whereas the alpha, theta, and delta waves were not altered to any great degree.
What is the implication of that?
Well, here is "brain science 101" (this will not qualify you to leave here and perform brain surgery on anyone after this brief passage), your brainwaves are on a scale from the highest to the lowest amount of activity. Those waves referred to as beta are activated when your brain is at its most awakened and actively engaged in mental activities. These waves are the fastest of the four brainwaves.
If you're in active dialogue mode, your brain is in beta. A lawyer, preacher or teacher is in high beta (with the exception of McCain). Right at this moment, I hope that I have you in beta. So this is definitely not a phase of brain activity you'd want to have impeded. Those engaged in the "dumbing down of America" - they might want you to have it impeded. But that is a topic for a different time and venue, eh?
In a special x-ray picture from the test it shows how the left portion of the frontal cortex is shown as brighter on the test subjects that endured the diesel fuel exposure, compared to the group that did not get gassed.
They suggest this effect might be due to the presence of nanoparticles.
Basic point is that air pollution is a serious concern that means trouble for both your body and your brain.
If you wish to help reduce pollution for the well being of yourself and your loved ones there is something effective that you can do!
WATER4GAS is sharing information for a nominal fee which folks can use in their garage or wherever to create a small gizmo which instills hydrogen into the gas/air mixture that their vehicle runs on.
The process makes bite sized particles out of the ones that the engine uses as fuel. So it is able to use considerably more of the fuel.
By doing this you can minimumly expect to improve your MPG by thirty to fifty percent or significantly more. Those molecules "musta" been pretty "blankin'" huge in some systems before. But with W4G they are made usable so you can improve your MPG.
It also helps to lower emissions significantly.
This package of info has been purchased by over NINE THOUSAND individuals already and the percentage of happy customers is about 99%! So how about you?
